Othered Suns Installation
Othered Suns is a series that explores themes of migration and the body. Historian Robin D. G. Kelley writes in his book “Freedom Dreams" that “the history of Black people has been the history of movement-real and imagined”. This series considers the physical, emotional, psychological, and temporal landscapes Black embodied people traverse as a means of existing in spaces of subversive freedom. Pulling from afropessimism and monster theory, Black people find themselves in a perpetual migration.
