O.G. Bobby Johnson and David Hammons go to Charlottesville
On Aug 11th 2017 a Unite the Right rally took place in Charlottesville Va. to protest the removal of a Robert E. Lee statue. Despite their class differences, many white nationalist groups came together, many heavily armed. The response from police was very passive compare to the approach taken at protest held in Ferguson.
O.G. Bobby Johnson and David Hammons, both Black, represent different ends of the socio-economic spectrum, however seem to share very similar politics.
This piece questions the response to Blackness in a political space, in which unarmed black bodies pose more of a threat than actual guns.
